About the Course

The ABAT or IBT coursework provides foundational training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). It prepares individuals who want to work as Behaviour Therapists, Behaviour Technicians, or professionals supporting individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. The course also fulfills the training requirement for those who wish to apply for certification.
Both ABAT and IBT are internationally recognised entry-level credentials in behaviour analysis. They provide training in ABA principles and practical intervention strategies. The main difference lies in the certifying organisations and the specific requirements for certification.

  • Identify and describe behaviour in observable and measurable terms
  • Understand reinforcement, prompting, and shaping procedures
  • Assist with implementing behaviour intervention plans
  • Collect and record behaviour data accurately
  • Support skill acquisition programs under supervision
  • Follow ethical and professional standards when working with clients
Participants will also gain practical knowledge that can support their work in behaviour therapy, disability support, education, and allied health settings.
The coursework consists of 40 hours of training, which is the required training duration for ABAT and IBT eligibility. Please refer to the session schedule for the detailed breakdown of training dates and times.
